What are the Changes Made in the New Education Policy

There are various sections, that have changed under the new education policy. These changes are now playing a key role in the education sector.
Early Childhood Care and Pedagogical Structure
The structure of school’s curriculum that was 10+2, will be replaced by the 5+3+3+4. And respective age sections will be 3-8,8-11,11-14 and 14-18. In one policy. The early age, that is 3-8 is recognised as a globally crucial age to develop crucial mental abilities of a child.
In this section, NEP talks about improving the quality os the Anganwadi system. They tend to be expendable and are recommended to the parents.
Right to Education Act 2009
The new education policy also focuses on the expanding the range of right to education act, 2009. This act includes two education levels. They are- Early childhood and secondary School.
Skill Development and Vocational Education
The new education policy aims to emphasise the integration of skill development and vocational education into the main education. The NEP 2020, aims to develop practical skills in the students. These skills not only give them theoretical knowledge but also will also give them hands on experience, making it easier for them to get a job.
Use of Technology
The NEP recognises the use and importance of technology. That’s why they promote it into the education sector. With the use of technology in education, students can use better resources to develop their core knowledge.
Since from the day, policy came into effects, digitisation of education is in front of everyone’s eye. Every school is using technology to enhance the abilities of students, to make them more capable.
Reforms in Higher Education
NEP 2020 introduced various reforms in education sector, and one of them was higher education reforms. These reforms includes the establishment of multidisciplinary institutions, promotion of research and innovation and making undergraduate programs flexible for students. The Government also introduced the internships into the curriculum.
Regional Languages Inclusion
The AICTE approved engineering courses and medical programs to be taught in regional languages. Now students can study them in their regional language. Along with that key entrance exams like JEE and NEET will also be conducted in 13 languages of India.
Global Expansion of IITs
IITs, also known as indian institute of Technology are establishing their campuses out of India as well. It started with IIT Madras opening its campus in Zanzibar and IIT Delhi is planning to open a campus in Abu Dhabi.
