Introduction
The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, also known as NIFTEM Sonepat, is a higher education institute operating under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. Established in 2012, the Institute of National Importance status was granted in 2021. NIFTEM is affiliated with MOFPI and UGC.
Over the years, NIFTEM, Kundli, has emerged as a leading academic and research institute in different aspects of food science and technology. It was first officially announced in P. Chidambaram’s budget speech for 2006-2007. The Institute started with several Bachelor of Technology programmes and Master of Technology programmes offered since the Academic year 2012-13.

Facilities Provided by NIFTEM
The National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management provides many facilities to its students. You can read about these facilities below:
NIFTEM Classrooms
To create a comfortable environment, conducive to learning, there are eight 100-seater and nine 25-seater classrooms. All the classrooms are tutorial rooms have been provided with multipurpose podiums, projection and lecture recording systems. This will help students to enhance their learning process. So, they can understand complex concepts through three-dimensional visualization.
NIFTEM Library
The NIFTEM Knowledge Centre came into existence as a constituent of the NIFTEM, Kundli. The aim of NKC is to fulfil the needs of the graduates, postgraduate and Research Scholars. The NKC has a unique set up of information and library network systems, which is equipped with modern infrastructure. The Library also provides all possible information through the internet required by the research scholars. Library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, journals, on-line databases, e-books, e-journals and many more.
NIFTEM Cafeteria
The Institute has a big cafeteria in the campus. The cafeteria offers a variety of hygienic food and beverages. Students can sit and relax there as well in free time. The cafeteria also serves to the faculty members of the university as well.
NIFTEM Hostels
The University Offers Hostel services for both boys and girls. Ambience with the right blend of studies and extracurricular activities has been created in the hostels. Rooms are well furnished and equipped with daily necessities.
Living rooms of the Hostels are well furnished and spacious with all modern facilities. A well-designed common room provided with a television facility is also available in the hostel. A gymnasium has been provided in the hostel to improve physical health and vigour.
NIFTEM Auditorium
The institute has a fully equipped auditorium with a seating capacity of 650 and state-of-the-art logistic as well as lights and sound system to support all kinds of programs and conferences.
NIFTEM Sports Facilities
Indoor and Outdoor sports complexes are available for students. Table tennis and Billiards table are being planned in the campus.

NIFTEM Transport Facilities
To Cater for the needs to their students’ transportation facilities, The University has a shuttle service plying from the campus to the nearest Metro station. Which is the Jahangir Puri Metro Station. This facility helps lots of students to reach on their classes on time without much hassle.
NIFTEM Medical Facilities
NIFTEM has a medical facility, where a doctor is available during institute hours and on call. In case of any emergency, a dedicated paramedical staff is always present. Also the campus dispensary has been provided with all essential first aid medicines and an ambulance.
Laundry Facility
Laundry service is also available for students. Students can get their clothes washed and ironed here within the hostel.
Self Contained Campus
For an Integrated township ambience, University has a separate complex to house amenities like Bank, Post office, General store, Stationery store, Saloon and Food Court is also planned and will come up in future.
